Exciting new budget for Stewarts Country Garden Centres generous community arts project, Little Green Fingers. Stewart's have been working with local artist, Nina Squire, for 5 years to develop a project that helps schools access high quality arts provision. Stewarts have generously raised the funds available which has enabled Nina to offer discounted workshops to 10 additional schools this year. There are still spaces avalible so please contact Nina if you know of a school that would like to a workshop for arts week or a summer school project. A lovely day out at The New Forest Show

A fabulous day out in glorious British sunshine with Stewarts. I'm drawing in their lovely hospitality marquee, it's an oasis in the busy show ground. There's a great selection of tea and cakes and fabulous views of the main Hoburne Ring.

Pastel workshops in Wimborne

Little Green Fingers vists Pimperne Primary

We designed a series of activities for arts week that covered the Jurassic Coast, including making huge pterodactyls, paper straw dino skeletons, casting dino footprints and wool felted panels, also a session of art inset training for the teachers, batik bunting!
A lovely few days.

Jubilee celebrations at Sturminster Marshall First School

Little Green Fingers has been working with Sturminster Marshall First School to produce celebration masks for the village Jubilee procession. Each class is looking at different culture for mask inspiration. We created these masks using Mardi Gras as a theme. We've also made a Chinese dragon for the procession - more photos to follow.

Nina Squire spent a day with St John's CE VC First School in Wimborne decorating bird boxes for Julias House. This initiative was funded by Stewarts Garden Centres as part of their community arts project, Little Green Fingers.
The children have learnt about Julia's House, Dorset Children's Hospice and the importance of giving and fundraising for children who are less fortunate than themselves. The reception class created colourful wings for the Julia's House collection pots, making them into beautiful butterflies to be displayed by the tills. Year 3 designed and painted bird boxes with a Julia's House theme. These fabulous pieces of artwork will be displayed in the main shopping area alongside the artists exhibiting at Dorset Art Weeks from 26th May to the 10th June at Stewarts Country Garden Centre in Broomhill, Wimborne.

I've just taken delivery of 35 bird boxes, generously donated Stewarts Garden Centre.

St John Primary School are helping me decorate them, Stewarts are sponsoring the project to raise much needed funds for the brilliant @juliashousedorset - Stewarts chosen charity of the year. They'll be on display during Dorset Art Weeks in the store for you to see.
